Your stay takes place in a charming off-grid shepherd’s hut set within the historic Walled Garden of a beautiful Shropshire estate. Surrounded by greenery and tucked away in the picturesque village of Willey, it’s a peaceful spot that feels miles away from the rush of everyday life. At the same time, it’s just a short drive from the famous Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and close to lovely market towns such as Much Wenlock, Broseley and Bridgnorth.
Inside the hut, you’ll find everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. There’s a double bed, dining table and chairs, and a wood-burning stove that keeps the space warm and cosy in the evenings. Just outside, you’ll have access to a barbecue and outdoor seating area, making it easy to enjoy the fresh countryside air.
The hut sits within a spacious garden setting, offering a quiet place to unwind and enjoy the surrounding landscape. Two nearby wooden huts provide practical facilities, including a private compost toilet and a gas-powered shower, keeping the experience simple while still comfortable.
A breakfast hamper ensures you start each morning with tea, coffee and pastries, perfect fuel for your countryside adventures.
During your break, you’ll also visit a nearby working farm known for its friendly and personal animal encounters. Here you’ll take part in a Highland Cow Experience, giving you the chance to meet these iconic shaggy-coated cattle up close.
After a short introduction, you’ll head into the paddock where you can feed, pet and groom the Highland cows, spending time with these gentle animals and learning more about their unique characteristics. With their impressive horns and long coats, they also make fantastic photo companions.

Footwear/clothing recommendations for Highland Cow experience:
It is strongly recommended you wear sturdy boots, wellingtons or larger shoes.
During the winter months the field can be extremely muddy so wellington boots and waterproof clothing are recommended.
The highland cow experience includes up to 4 hours open farm access with free parking.
Shepherd's Hut
Set within a spacious garden area.
There are steps up to the entrance of the shepherd's hut.
Inside there is a double bed, dining table with chairs, and a wood-burning stove. Outside, there's a barbecue and outdoor seating.
There are two dedicated wooden huts nearby: one with a private compost toilet and another with a gas-fired shower.
