We never set out to build the biggest gift company in the UK, just the most thoughtful one. A place where every voucher is a doorway to a real, wonder day out, not a generic box on a shelf. Many years on, we're still that same small team, just with a few more passport stamps.
Co-founders Matt and Abi were sat in a office moaning about the state of UK gift-experience websites. Six coffees later, they sketched out something better on the back of a leaflet. A month later, the first version of WonderDays launched from Matt's office in Telford.
Word spread. We hit our first six-figure customer milestone, hired Hayden to boost partnerships and started signing exclusive deals with the kind of suppliers the big chains couldn't reach; small family-run vineyards, off-grid cookery schools, one-person sports-car clubs.
Seven years in, we're a 9-strong team based out of an office in Telford. We turn down more suppliers than we sign, only adding experiences a member of the team has personally tried. If we wouldn't gift it to our nan, it doesn't go on the site.
