Buzz into something truly special with this Beekeeping Experience in Yorkshire, set in the heart of the stunning Yorkshire Dales near Skipton. If you’re searching for an unusual birthday gift, this sweet adventure is the bee’s knees!
Over the course of 90 minutes, you’ll step into the fascinating world of the honeybee and see what life inside a hive is really like. After suiting up in full beekeeping gear (yes, you’ll look the part!), you’ll join an expert guide to peek inside a live hive, home to over 50,000 bees working together in perfect harmony. You’ll learn all about the hive hierarchy, how bees make honey, and how to spot the all-important queen.
But this isn’t just a watch-and-learn session, you’ll get properly stuck in! From handling the smoker like a pro to holding the frames and seeing the honeycomb up close, you’ll experience what it’s really like to be a beekeeper. It’s hands-on, educational, and guaranteed to leave you with a new appreciation for these incredible little creatures.
And of course, no beekeeping experience would be complete without a sweet treat to take home. Each participant receives a jar of pure Yorkshire honey, the perfect reminder of your time spent with the bees.
Group size: Up to 6 participants
Weather Dependent
The experience may be cancelled if it is too cold, too wet, or too windy, as these conditions are not suitable for the bees. If the experience is cancelled due to weather, it will be rescheduled.
Important
This experience involves working closely with live bees. While every precaution is taken to minimise the risk of stings, it cannot be guaranteed that you won’t be stung. If you have a severe allergy to bee stings, you are strongly advised against booking. All participants must sign a waiver before taking part.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
