The Main Event
This flying lesson is ideal to get a taste of what it's like to pilot a small light aircraft, especially if you're thinking of gaining a pilot's license.
During this flying lesson, you'll sit alongside the experienced instructor in the front of the Piper Warrior PA28.
You will be paired with another person and one of you will take the controls and fly the aircraft en route to Earls Colne with the other flying on the way back to the airfield. So you will have 1 hour flying and 1 hour as a passenger.
You'll be instructed by a seasoned pilot, who will guide you through the basics of flight, providing hands-on experience with the aircraft controls. This personalised session is designed for those eager to take the first steps toward earning their pilot's license. This flying lesson can even be entered into your logbook as training time.
You'll depart from Cranfield Airfield near Milton Keynes in Bedfordshire, and the lesson will not only impart fundamental piloting skills but also treat you to breathtaking aerial views of the surrounding landscape. If you're an aviation enthusiast or someone seriously considering a pilot's license, this flying lesson promises an informative and memorable introduction to flying an aircraft.
As well as the flying lesson, you'll be treated to a delicious light lunch either onsite at Cranfield Airfield or at the Essex Country and Golf Club, this will be confirmed when your booking is confirmed.

Important to Note
Weather can affect the safety of flights so a flight may be cancelled and rescheduled at short notice.
Scheduled flights are also subject to aircraft serviceability and availability.
The Stansted fly over is subject to clearance from ATC and is subject to change.
You will be paired up with another person where one will take the controls on the way to the destination and the other on the way back.
When
This experience is available to book 7 days a week between 9am and 7pm, subject to weather.
Please note: Weekends are the busiest times and bookings may need to be scheduled up to a month in advance. Most weekday bookings will need around 1 week's notice.
Total experience time is 3 hours (including a 15 minute briefing and approx 45 mins for lunch).
Validity
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
Who Can Go
- There are no age restrictions.
- If the participant is under 18 years old, please be advised that we would prefer a parent/guardian to sit in the back of the aeroplane or alternatively, a waiver form can be signed.
- The aircraft is quite small and requires you to have a reasonable level of mobility to enter and exit the aircraft for safety reasons.
- There is no additional fee for spectators.
What about Insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
