Ultimate Aerobatic Flying Lesson

Take the controls of a competition aeroplane and master the skies! Sitting in the front seat of the incredible Extra 300 aerobatic aircraft, you'll take control yourself and learn how to perform exciting manoeuvres under the expert guidance of an ex-military instructor.

Known as one of the world's leading aerobatic aircraft and famously used in competitions such as the Red Bull Air Race, the Extra 300 is built for precision, performance and adrenaline. This is your opportunity to discover exactly what it can do, while you're the one holding the controls.

Your experience begins by getting suited up in a military-style flight suit and choosing a pilot name badge. After a detailed safety, parachute and flying briefing, you'll head out to the aircraft where a friend or family member can join you to capture some amazing pre-flight photos.

Once you're strapped into the front seat of the Extra 300, with your instructor positioned behind you, it's time to take to the skies. After take-off, you'll learn how the aircraft responds as you practise the basics of flying, including turning, climbing and descending. Then comes the exciting part, putting your skills into action as you take control and fly aerobatic manoeuvres yourself.

With your instructor guiding you throughout, you'll have the chance to perform incredible figures including loops, aileron rolls, barrel rolls, Cuban 8s, slow rolls, vertical rolls, stall turns and more. You can choose how far you want to push your limits, making the experience as thrilling or as relaxed as you like.

The flight can even include advanced aerobatic manoeuvres inspired by professional air displays across Europe, giving you a taste of what elite pilots can do with this amazing aircraft.

You'll spend around 35 minutes in the aircraft, including approximately 15 minutes in the air, before returning to base for a debrief with your instructor pilot. To remember your adventure, you'll receive a signed flight certificate detailing the G-forces you experienced during your flight.

Example of what happens on the day:

• Get kitted out in military flight suit and choose your name badge
• Detailed safety/parachute and flying briefing before your flight
• 1 family member/friend can come out to the aircraft with you to take photos
• You sit in the front of the Extra 300 aircraft and your instructor sits in the back
• Take-off and ‘get to know’ the aeroplane: introduction to effects of controls – turning, climbing, descending
• Aerobatics – beginner and intermediate manoeuvres – demo’d by instructor
• You fly aerobatic manoeuvres yourself: loop, aileron roll, stall turn, barrel roll, Cuban 8, slow roll, vertical roll, derry turn etc.
• Instructor talks through Return to Base
• Time in the aircraft is around 35 minutes (15 minutes in the air)
• Debrief with your instructor pilot after the flight
• Signed Flight Certificate detailing the G-Forces you pulled
• Opportunity to purchase a video of your flight (price £69)

The flight experiences are delivered as Air Exercise 3 of the PPL syllabus by qualified Flying Instructors, and include a safety brief and explanation of how the flying controls operate. You will be shown how to fly the aircraft yourself under close supervision of your instructor, even if you have never flown in a light aircraft before.

Flights involving aerobatics and formation may involve greater risks than simple sightseeing trips, and guests will be required to sign a disclaimer to confirm that they understand and are comfortable with this.
