A Pottery Painting Party is a brilliant way to spend time with friends or family while making something you’ll treasure.
You’ll have three hours to decorate your own ceramic plate (or bowl or mug) in a relaxed and welcoming environment. No experience is needed. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have an artistic streak, you’ll enjoy the process and leave with a unique keepsake. Your creation can be bold and colourful, neat and detailed, or full of happy splodges – it’s all about painting from the heart.
There are three sessions a day to choose from: morning, afternoon, or evening. Morning and afternoon sessions include tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks, while the evening option comes with a bottle of bubbly to share. You’re also welcome to bring along your own favourite treats and drinks.
Everything is provided, including your pre-made pottery, paints and brushes. Friendly guidance is always available, whether you want to sketch a design first or dive straight in. Once finished, your piece will be glazed and kiln-fired at 1220°C, making the colours pop and ensuring it’s strong and water resistant. You can collect your finished piece within 7–10 days, or have it posted for an extra charge.
This experience is all about enjoying the moment, trying something new, and creating memories together. As a gift, it’s personal, thoughtful and fun, plus the finished piece is a lasting reminder of a great day out.
Important
Glazing and firing of your pottery pieces can be unpredictable.
Your brushwork and colours might not turn out the way you envisage.
What’s more, perfection in firing is not always possible. Glaze spotting can occur as well as things like brick dust on the items. This is the charm but also the frustration of working with ceramics.
In the exceptional event of your pottery breaking or cracking in the kiln, you will be offered a £30 refund on that piece, or a replacement voucher in lieu from the experience provider.
Location
The venue is a home in Goring-on-Thames, a beautiful South Oxfordshire village on the River Thames, where it flows through the Chiltern Hills between Reading and Oxford.
Food Allergies
Food and drink consumed during the event are at the guest’s own risk.
If you have a serious or life-threatening food allergy, please bring your own drinks and snacks.
Cats and Dogs
A cat and a small dog live on the premises. If anyone in your party is allergic to cats or dogs, please use your discretion in choosing this experience. They cannot guarantee an absence of cat or dog hair or dander. (Likewise, if any member of your group has a fear of cats or dogs, please advise when booking, so they can be kept out of the area.
Collecting your finished piece
Finished pieces will be ready for collection within 7-10 days. If you are unable to pick them up, they can be posted to you for an extra charge.
Mondays to Saturdays
There are three sessions a day to choose from, and each one lasts three hours, giving you plenty of time to finish decorating.
Morning Mindfulness: 10am – 1pm (includes teas and coffees or soft drinks, and a small selection of muffins or cookies)
Afternoon Art in Action: 2pm – 5pm (includes teas and coffees or soft drinks, and a small selection of snacks)
Evening Chill Time: 7pm – 10pm (includes soft drinks or one bottle of bubbly, and a selection of nibbles)
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
