Switch off from everyday life and immerse yourself in clay and creativity with this Weekend Pottery Course Experience. Set within the beautiful Eastnor Castle Estate, this pottery retreat takes place over two full daytime sessions and is designed as both a skill-building course and a relaxing creative getaway.

Perfect for beginners and improvers alike, this pottery wheel experience takes place in a small, friendly group of up to 8 people, ensuring plenty of individual guidance and a supportive, unhurried atmosphere. It’s ideal for friends looking for a unique weekend away, creative couples, or anyone searching for a peaceful pottery retreat with something meaningful to take home.

Day One- Throwing & Exploring

Your weekend begins with a warm welcome and expert demonstrations, introducing you to the fundamentals of throwing clay on the potter’s wheel. The focus is very much on exploration and enjoyment, expect plenty of hands-on time, an unlimited supply of clay and encouragement to experiment with shapes, sizes and techniques. As confidence builds, you’ll begin forming your own vessels and designs, learning through practice in a relaxed, nurturing environment.

Day Two- Refining & Decorating

After your pieces have rested overnight, day two is all about refinement and detail. You’ll return your work to the wheel to trim, turn and perfect your forms, learning techniques such as creating foot rings, attaching handles and adding decorative elements. You’ll also explore colour and surface design, bringing personality and polish to your pottery.

By the end of the weekend, you’ll select up to three favourite pieces to be professionally fired and glazed in a kiln, giving them a durable, high-quality finish. These will be carefully completed and sent to you around a month later, a lasting reminder of your creative escape.

Important to Note

Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided but please bring a packed lunch with you on both days.

The 'fire and glaze' takes around a month to be finished and is included in your experience. You may also choose to take more of your pots home for an additional fee.

Maximum class size of 8 participants ensures each recipient has plenty of guidance and attention.

Apron and towel bundle can be hired on the day for £5. Terracotta clay is used which can stain light fabrics.

The experience is completed over two days. Sessions run for 6 hours, 10am-4pm.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Ages 16 and over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
