The Main Event

Spend the day learning the art of pottery with this full-day Pottery Masterclass Experience. Designed for beginners and improvers alike, this hands-on pottery course offers expert guidance and the satisfaction of producing beautiful ceramic pieces from raw clay.

Set in a welcoming pottery studio in Herefordshire, the day begins at 10am with a warm introduction and a detailed potter’s wheel demonstration. You’ll be shown an easy-to-follow, step-by-step process that breaks wheel throwing down into manageable stages, helping you build confidence from your very first attempt. With a potter’s wheel assigned to you for the day, you’ll have plenty of time to practise, experiment and find your rhythm.

Throughout the morning, you’ll work through the core techniques together as a small group, supported by expert potters who offer encouragement, practical tips and individual guidance when needed. There’s no pressure to be perfect, pottery is all about learning through doing, embracing happy accidents and enjoying the process.

After a lunch break, the afternoon session allows you to develop your skills further. With additional demonstrations, you’ll begin working with larger amounts of clay, exploring different shapes, forms and proportions. As your confidence grows, you’re encouraged to work at your own pace, refining pieces and trying new ideas with one-to-one support available throughout.

By the end of the day, you’ll have created multiple pots, from which you can choose one or two favourite pieces to be professionally fired and glazed in a kiln. These will be carefully finished and sent to you around 4-6 weeks later, ready to take pride of place at home as lasting reminders of your creative achievement.

With small group sizes to ensure plenty of guidance and time learning, this masterclass is ideal for creative souls, milestone birthdays or anyone who wants to learn a new skill.

Important to Note

Maximum class size of 9 participants to ensure each recipient has plenty of guidance and attention.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided but please bring a packed lunch with you.

The 'fire and glaze' takes around a month to be finished and is included in your experience. You may also choose to take more of your pots home for an additional fee.

Apron and towel hire bundle £5 per person.

When

Available to book 2-3 Saturdays and 1-2 Wednesdays a month.

Sessions run for 6 hours: 10am-4pm.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Age 16+
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
