Departing from the charming Chinnor Station, you'll be transported into a world of nostalgia as you board the vintage locomotive. The seven and a half mile round trip will take you on a delightful adventure, with the highlight being a stop at Princes Risborough before returning to Chinnor Station.

As you chug along the tracks, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of rolling countryside and lush farmland, providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing day out. Keep an eye out for the iconic Whiteleaf Cross, a historic landmark etched into the chalk hillside. Its origins are shrouded in history, dating back to the Middle Ages or even earlier, and it's believed to have served as a marker for the old salt route from Droitwich to London. Important to Note

Car parking is available at Chinnor Station and is free for train ticket holders. The car park is on the right hand side as you proceed along Kiln Avenue.

Who Can Go

Accessibility at Chinnor Station: Level access suitable for wheelchairs is available via the old Station Approach road, and utilising a side-gate to the platform. Whilst parking is not generally allowed on this privately-owned road, passengers can be dropped off at the side-gate and then retrace your route and park up in the main station car park (and similarly return via the same route at the end of your visit). Access to the old Station Approach road is gained by turning right into the road on the Chinnor village side of the railway bridge and then along the front of the dental surgery. Please drive slowly, keeping a good lookout for children who often play in the area.
Toilet facilities for disabled visitors are available at Chinnor station.
No toilets with disabled access are available on the train and this is due to the age and historic construction of the coaches.
If you are in a wheelchair but you can step aboard and move to a seat (via the narrow connecting doors of our heritage vehicles), then your wheelchair can be left on the platform at Chinnor under the watchful eyes of the Volunteer station staff.
On the train: If you are a wheelchair user please note that on steam-hauled services, availability is limited to ONE pre-booked wheelchair together with ONE accompanied Carer for travel in the Guard's brakevan. Here you will find a table at a window and non-slip flooring, plus a chair for one accompanying carer or companion. Access is via a ramp and it is your responsibility for boarding safely using the ramp.
The Station Cafe at Chinnor Station serves drinks and snacks. Most steam hauled trains offer a trolley service of tea, coffee and snacks during the journey.
Well behaved pet dogs are welcome and travel free. Do please consider other visitors and keep your dog on a short lead whilst on and about the stations and on the trains.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
