Step aboard a beautifully restored steam locomotive and be transported back to a time when rail travel was slow, elegant and full of charm. In the Chiltern Hills, sweeping countryside views unfold with rolling landscapes, woodland and picture perfect villages. In South Wales, the journey through Blaenavon and Torfaen offers a striking blend of rugged hills, historic industrial heritage and dramatic scenery, all framed by the timeless appeal of steam travel. Each route showcases its own unique beauty, making both destinations equally memorable.
Throughout the journey, guests can relax in classic carriage seating and enjoy a glass of bubbly while the scenery drifts by. Whether travelling through the gentle English countryside or the atmospheric valleys of Wales, every moment captures the charm of a bygone era.

Car parking is available at Chinnor Station and is free for train ticket holders. The car park is on the right hand side as you proceed along Kiln Avenue.
Ample free car and coach parking is available at Furnace Sidings. When travelling to this railway, please use postcode NP4 9AX.

A very nice time was had by all 4 of our group. A lovely pre-ride bacon butty and cup of coffee in the station cafe then onto the train to take our seats. Chocolates and 'bubbles' (sadly not champagne!) were on the table when we arrived - both added a nice little touch for our friend's birthday.
The journey was shorter than expected - about an hour - but it was very enjoyable with lovely views across the countryside and plenty of Railway Children style waving to the people who came out to see the train passing.
All the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and informative - especially the chap who met us at the station entrance and explained the history of the engines etc.
This was a great way to spend time when you have a free weekend - and not too expensive either.
