Depending on your chosen route, you’ll glide along the dramatic Cumbrian coast or weave through the rolling hills, viaducts and wild moorland of the iconic Settle–Carlisle line. Either way, the views are nothing short of spectacular.
At your destination, enjoy free time to explore, sightsee or simply soak up the atmosphere before stepping back on board for the return journey. A six-course dinner awaits, complete with fine wines, impeccable service and beautifully presented dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Expect a blend of comforting classics and contemporary flavours, all crafted in the onboard kitchen carriage. Your feast finishes with a Great British Cheese Board and a glass of port, the perfect finale to a day steeped in luxury.

Steam Travel
Some journeys may be a combination of steam engine and diesel locomotive.
Steam haulage is not guaranteed and may be replaced by a heritage diesel locomotive in the event of dry conditions (due to fire risk from embers) or mechanical failure, as many steam engines are over 100 years old. In the unlikely event that a substitute cannot be obtained, the excursion will be run with a heritage diesel locomotive.
If the trip is diesel-hauled, guests will receive a £30 credit per person, equivalent to the steam supplement. While this is unlikely, Northern Belle believe in being transparent and will notify you by email as soon as possible should any changes occur.
Dietary Requirements/Allergies
Please give at least 14 days notice (prior to travel) of any dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free.
It is not possible to provide meals that require strict religious observance in preparation.
Please note that due to the small preparation areas on the train, no cross contamination can be guaranteed so please advise of any serious allergic reactions when booking.
Seating Arrangements
All carriages are vintage pullman style. Each row of seats is a table for two and across the aisle a table for four.
Tables For Two
There are limited tables for two. There is a chance you may be sharing a table of four with another couple.
Subject to availability you may guarantee a table for two by paying a supplement of £105 per passenger when booking.
Bookings of five or six attract a surcharge of £210 for the use of the private table for two.
Journeys take place throughout the year from different locations, on selected dates.

This is a round trip, returning back to your departure location.
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
