The Main Event
A self guided tour of a prison is a day out with a difference.
Choose from Shrewsbury Prison in Shropshire or Shepton Mallet in Somerset.
It's the perfect experience for those who want to take the day at their own pace and explore the whole prison at their own leisure.
You'll investigate what prison life was like for the former prisoners who served their sentences here and explore all parts of the prison including the cells, healthcare rooms, governor’s office, executioner’s bedroom, and even the Condemned prisoner’s cell.
Finish your day with a trip to the museum gift shop where you can find something to take home as well as the unique memories of your time behind bars. Or head to the cafe on site, where you’ll find a lovely selection of light bites, cakes and drinks.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
