Zero Gravity Space Flight Flying Experience

This Zero Gravity Space Flight Experience brings the sensations of space travel back down to Earth, giving you the chance to feel the G-forces astronauts experience while taking control of a real aircraft yourself.

Guided by an experienced ex-military instructor, you'll step into the cockpit of a T67 Firefly training aircraft and experience the thrills of space flight. This unique flying experience combines hands-on piloting with an unforgettable taste of astronaut training.

Your adventure begins with you getting suited up in a military-style flight suit and choosing your pilot name badge. After a detailed safety, parachute and flying briefing, you'll head out to the aircraft. A friend or family member can even join you at the aircraft to capture some amazing photos before your mission begins.

Once you're seated side-by-side with your instructor, you'll learn the basics of flying the aircraft, including turning, climbing and descending. Then it's time to experience the incredible forces of space travel.

Feel the powerful 3G acceleration that astronauts experience during lift-off as you climb through the skies. Next comes the highlight of the experience – Zero G. As the aircraft creates the sensation of weightlessness, you'll feel yourself lift from your seat and float just like an astronaut in orbit. 

You'll also experience the intense 4.5G forces of re-entry, where your body feels several times heavier than normal as you recreate the sensation of returning from space. Even better, you'll have the opportunity to replicate some of these incredible forces yourself as you take control of the aircraft.

With around 40 minutes in the aircraft, including approximately 20 minutes in the air, this flying experience gives you the chance to feel like an astronaut, fly a real aircraft and experience the extraordinary forces of space travel.

Example of what happens on the day:

• Get kitted out in military flight suit and choose your name badge
• Detailed safety/parachute and flying briefing before your flight
• 1 family member/friend can come out to the aircraft with you to take photos
• You will sit side-by-side with your instructor.
• Take-off and get to know the aeroplane: introduction to effects of controls – turning, climbing, descending.
• Feel the same G-force acceleration that astronauts experience on lift-off from the launch pad (3G).
• Replicate the sensation of being weightless (Zero G), exactly as astronauts would feel in orbit.
• Gasp as your body weighs 4.5 times its normal weight as you simulate the forces on re-entry.
• Enjoy the opportunity to replicate some or all of these forces yourself as you fly the aeroplane.
• Time in the aircraft is around 40 minutes (20 minutes in the air)
• Debrief with your instructor pilot after the flight
• Signed Flight Certificate detailing the G-Forces you pulled
• Opportunity to purchase a 360 degree video of your flight (price £69)

The flight experiences are delivered as Air Exercise 3 of the PPL syllabus by qualified Flying Instructors, and include a safety brief and explanation of how the flying controls operate. You will be shown how to fly the aircraft yourself under close supervision of your instructor, even if you have never flown in a light aircraft before.

Flights involving aerobatics and formation may involve greater risks than simple sightseeing trips, and guests will be required to sign a disclaimer to confirm that they understand and are comfortable with this.
