The Experience

All aboard for a wonderful day of steam trains, beautiful countryside and award-winning English wines!

Combining the nostalgic charm of a heritage railway with a relaxing vineyard visit, this experience is a lovely way to discover the Chiltern Hills. From a scenic steam train journey to a delicious lunch and guided wine tasting, there's plenty to look forward to.

Your day begins at Chinnor Railway Station, where you'll climb aboard a traditional steam train for a 60-minute return journey to Princes Risborough. Sit back, listen to the gentle rhythm of the engine and admire the rolling countryside as you travel through the picturesque Chiltern Hills.

After your railway adventure, it's time to make your own way to Chiltern Valley Winery & Brewery, nestled in the beautiful countryside near Henley-on-Thames.

You'll start your vineyard visit with a delicious light sharing-board lunch, served outdoors or beneath a covered stretch tent. It's the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before the afternoon's activities begin.

Next, you'll join a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, discovering more about English winemaking and the care that goes into producing the estate's wines. Lasting approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, the tour also includes a tutored tasting of award-winning English wines, giving you the chance to explore different flavours and learn a little more about what's in your glass.

Before heading home, why not browse the cellar shop? You'll receive an exclusive 10% discount on purchases of wines, ales and liqueurs, ideal if you discover a new favourite.

Your Itinerary

10:30am – Return Steam Train Journey
Depart from Chinnor Railway Station for a scenic 60-minute return journey to Princes Risborough.

12:15pm – Depart for the Vineyard
Make your own way to Chiltern Valley Winery & Brewery. Your own transport is required.

12:30pm – Light Sharing-Board Lunch
Arrive at the vineyard and enjoy a relaxed lunch in the outdoor seating area or covered stretch tent.

1:30pm – Guided Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting
Explore the vineyard and winery with your guide, followed by a tutored tasting of English wines.

3:15pm – Approximate Finish
Your countryside experience comes to an end, with the opportunity to browse the cellar shop and enjoy your exclusive discount.

Important Information

Please note: The vineyard is located within approximately 30 minutes' drive of Chinnor Railway Station. Guests must arrange their own transport between the two locations. Vineyard tours may be adapted in adverse weather conditions.

Car parking is available at Chinnor Station and is free for train ticket holders. The car park is on the right hand side as you proceed along Kiln Avenue.

Tours run on selected days from March through to October.

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
