The experience begins with a trip back in time, departing from Chinnor aboard a beautifully restored steam train. Settle into your seat, listen to the gentle chug of the engine, and enjoy a 60-minute return trip to Princes Risborough through the rolling countryside of the Chiltern Hills.
Once you’ve stepped off the train, you’ll head over to Daws Hill Vineyard. Here, you’ll get a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, learning how the wines are made from start to finish. The tour includes a tasting session of their sparkling wines, giving you the chance to try a few different varieties and get a better idea of what goes into each bottle.
To round it all off, there’s a relaxed ploughman’s lunch waiting for you, served in a peaceful countryside setting. Think fresh, local produce, great views, and a chance to sit back and enjoy the moment.
In the event of poor weather, tours may be limited to the winery.
Car parking is available at Chinnor Station and is free for train ticket holders. The car park is on the right hand side as you proceed along Kiln Avenue.
The whole return journey can be done by steam train however there will be the option to return (from Princes Risborough to Chinnor) again by diesel train as an additional trip.
Tours run on selected days from March through to October.
