This day out in London combines royal history, horses, and a touch of luxury with a traditional afternoon tea.
Your day out begins at The Royal Mews, one of the world’s finest working stables and the beating heart of royal road travel. This museum gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how the Royal Family gets from A to B in serious style. You’ll see the famous Windsor Greys and Cleveland Bays, the very horses that pull the King’s carriages, as well as an impressive collection of historic coaches and modern state vehicles.
From the Diamond Jubilee State Coach to the Australian State Coach, complete with its own central heating because even royalty gets chilly, there’s plenty to marvel at. And of course, the showstopper: the shimmering Gold State Coach, used at every coronation since 1821.
Once you've had your fill of royal splendour, it’s time to head to The Clermont, Charing Cross for a well-earned indulgent treat. Their Afternoon Tea is served in a beautifully restored Victorian lounge, perfect for sinking into a comfy seat and enjoying the moment. Expect finger sandwiches filled with classic favourites, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, and a selection of handcrafted pastries that are almost too pretty to eat.
Choose from a menu of premium teas, or make it extra celebratory by adding a glass of chilled Champagne. It’s a lovely way to wind down after your visit and makes the whole experience feel like a real treat.
This experience day gift is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and perfect for anyone with an interest in the British Royal Family.
