The Main Event

Give old furniture a new lease of life with this Decoupage For Furniture one day course.

Whether you’re a total beginner or someone who enjoys getting crafty now and then, this workshop is all about learning how to transform tired furniture into something you’ll actually want to show off.

All you need to bring is a small piece of furniture, think a stool, bedside table or even a spice rack, and by the end of the day, it’ll be completely unrecognisable (in a good way). Under expert guidance, you’ll learn how to prep your piece properly so your design not only looks great but lasts too.

The magic really happens when you start experimenting with different decoupage styles. You can go vintage and elegant, bright and bold, or somewhere in between, it’s entirely up to you. You’ll also get to try some other creative techniques. Water marbling adds a unique, swirling effect that’s oddly addictive, while image transferring lets you personalise your furniture with photos, whether that’s a favourite holiday snap, a beloved pet, or something a bit quirky.

You’ll also learn the all-important finishing touches, including sealing techniques that keep your masterpiece protected and looking its best for years to come.

By the end of the day, you won’t just have a revamped piece of furniture, you’ll have something completely one-of-a-kind, created by you.

As a gift, it’s ideal for creative types, home décor lovers, or anyone who enjoys putting their own stamp on things.

What's Included?
Unless specified all the materials, tools, and guidance are provided.
All necessary PPE is supplied.
Tea, coffee and water are available throughout the day.
There is a fridge in which you can store your packed lunch

It is recommended you wear old clothes suitable for the activities you’ll be doing and appropriate footwear.

What to Bring
A small piece of furniture – like a small coffee table, stool, bedside cabinet, spice rack. The workshop isn’t huge, so please don’t bring anything too large. Ideal items around 75cm x 75cm maximum.

Don't have a piece of furniture?
There will be free wood sheets to practice on, perfect for learning new techniques and experimenting with ideas. There may be a few small pre-loved pieces available that you could buy for £5–£15 (the cost paid by the provider) to work on and take home.

Bringing your own photos? If you’d like to try transferring your own photos or images, please make sure it’s printed from a computer onto cheap, standard printer paper – not photo paper, glossy paper or card (max size 20cmx20cm).

Keep in mind: the image is destroyed during the transfer process, so please don’t bring original or irreplaceable photos. There'll be plenty of images on site for you to choose from if you’d prefer not to bring your own.

When

Courses run on selected days throughout the year.

Workshop opens at 9.15am and courses start at 9:30am. The day usually finishes between 4:00pm and 4:30pm.

There'll be short breaks in the morning and afternoon, with lunch happening sometime between 12:30pm and 2:00pm.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Minimum age is 14.
Under 18s can take part if accompanied by a parent or guardian also on the course (one adult with each child).
If you have any medical or physical conditions that may affect your ability to take part in the workshop, you need to inform the experience provider at time of booking your course.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
