What Is White Water Rafting?

White water rafting is an exhilarating adventure sport that involves navigating a river on a raft while braving the rapids and cascading waterfalls. It's an outdoor activity that requires teamwork, endurance, and an adventurous spirit. For those who love adventure, white water rafting is an excellent way to experience the thrill of the great outdoors.

It can be enjoyed on a variety of waterways, including lakes, rivers, and rapids. Rapids are classified by their level of difficulty, ranging from Class I (easy) to Class VI (extreme). The higher the class, the more challenging the rapids will be. Most beginners start with Class I or II rapids, while more experienced rafters may seek out the more challenging Class III or IV rapids.

The equipment needed for white water rafting includes a raft, paddles, helmets, life jackets, and wetsuits. A qualified guide will accompany each rafting group to ensure safety and provide instruction on how to navigate the rapids. Before starting, the guide will give a safety briefing, including how to paddle and what to do if the raft capsizes.

An excellent way to experience the beauty of nature while getting a workout, rafting provides a full-body workout, as it requires paddling, balancing, and maintaining the raft's stability. Additionally, rafting can help improve mental health by reducing stress and anxiety and providing an opportunity to connect with nature.

Although white water rafting can be a thrilling adventure, safety is always a top priority. It's essential to choose a reputable rafting company with experienced guides and safety equipment. Additionally, it's important to wear the proper safety gear, listen to the guide's instructions, and know your limits.

If white water rafting doesn’t tickle your fancy then what about water zorbing or aqua sphering as WonderDays calls it.

Zorb Up Your Life!

Water zorbing, also known as water walking, aqua zorbing, or water balls, is a recreational activity that involves rolling in a large, transparent inflatable ball on the surface of water. The water ball, or zorb, is made of a durable plastic material and has two layers, with a layer of air between them.

The activity usually takes place in a large pool, lake or other body of water, where participants climb into the zorb through a small opening. Once inside, the participant is securely strapped in with a harness, and the ball is then sealed shut. The zorb is then pushed into the water, and the participant can start to walk or run inside the ball.

Water zorbing can be enjoyed by people of all ages and is often used as a fun activity at water parks, resorts, and other outdoor recreational areas. It's an excellent way to enjoy the water and get a unique perspective on the surrounding scenery.

There are two types of water zorbing, wet and dry. Wet water zorbing is where the participant is completely submerged in the water, while dry water zorbing is where the zorb remains above the water level. Wet water zorbing is more common, and the participant can walk, run or even do somersaults inside the ball, while being propelled by the water.

Water zorbing is a fun and unique activity that can provide a great workout for the body, especially the legs, as the participant tries to maintain balance and move inside the zorb. It's also a fun activity for groups, as participants can race each other or play games inside the ball.
