Treat your favourite daredevil to an unforgettable whitewater river bug experience in stunning Llangollen, Wales!
This is the ideal introduction to the world of bugging and whitewater adventure. While no previous experience is needed, participants must be strong swimmers, able to swim 25 metres, and extremely water confident.
In this thrilling adventure, participants will lie on their front or back in a specially designed river bug, using webbed water gloves to steer through the rapids, surf waves, and spin through the River Dee's thrilling twists and turns. The real fun begins as you jump or flip off the river’s natural features, all while balancing and navigating your way through the water.
This 2 ½ hour session is a perfect mix of excitement and challenge, offering the ultimate way to explore the natural whitewater. Whether it’s jumping, spinning, or simply riding the waves, it’s an unforgettable way to experience the power of the river and the beauty of the Welsh countryside.
Available from 1st April to 31st October, this adventure is suitable for groups, making it an ideal gift for birthdays, anniversaries, or just a fun day out with friends or family. This is a shared experience, so you’ll be joined by fellow adventurers ready to tackle the rapids alongside you. Sessions last approximately 2 ½ hours.
Please note: this is not a private session and as such there is the possibility you will be sharing this experience with others.
You need to arrive at the start / arrival time listed on your confirmation email, there is a strict time schedule and failure to arrive on time will result in your session being cancelled.
Session times: 9.00am or 1.00pm
This experience is only available from 1st April to 31st October.
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
How many people can you take in one session?
This is not a private experience and one session can include up to 18 people.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Yes, you must be extremely water confident and be able to swim 25m.
Are there changing facilities?
The activity centre is equipped with toilets, changing rooms, showers and storage boxes for your belongings.
What do I need to bring on the day?
You will need to bring a pair of trainers you don’t mind getting wet (no open toes, sandals, crocs), swimwear, towel and a pair of shorts to wear over your wetsuit.
Is this available all year round?
No, this experience is only available from 1st April to 31st October.
Do I need to arrive earlier than my start time?
No, you need to arrive at the start / arrival time listed on your confirmation email. There is a strict time schedule and failure to arrive on time will result in your session being cancelled.
Can I wear my glasses?
It is strongly recommended to not wear glasses for your safety and comfort.
Is there any parking on site?
There is no onsite parking, you will need to park in one of the pay and display car parks. Please allow plenty of time for this especially at weekends and throughout the summer months as Llangollen is a popular tourist destination.
Can I take part if I am pregnant?
No, you should not attend this activity if you are pregnant.
Should I bring my medication with me
The instructors carry dry bags, so if you think you may need your medication with you whilst out on session, then bring it with you and ask your instructor to keep it safe.
Will my activity be cancelled in bad weather?
Sometimes. On the rare occasion where the weather makes it impossible to provide your activity within the strict safety guidelines, the experience provider may need to postpone. The experience partner will contact you as soon as possible if they need to reschedule your booking.
