For those who follow the racing calendar, study the form and feel that buzz when the runners head to post, this Ultimate Newmarket Experience is something special.
The day begins bright and early at the National Horseracing Museum, where you’ll meet your guide before heading up to the legendary Warren Hill. Watching strings of thoroughbreds exercising across the famous gallops is something special. You’ll hear how these training grounds came to be and why Newmarket is considered the beating heart of British horseracing.
Next, you’ll step behind the scenes at a real racing yard. Discover what it takes to prepare a racehorse for the track, see the facilities up close, and get a feel for the dedication and routine that shape these incredible athletes.
After a coffee break at the Heath Court Hotel, it’s time for a visit to The National Stud. Set across 500 acres, this is your chance to see top-class stallions such as Stradivarius and Bradsell, meet mares and foals, and possibly even spot retired legend Lord Windermere. For true horseracing fans, it’s hard to beat.
Back at the museum, you’ll receive a £6 lunch voucher to enjoy at The Tack Room restaurant before exploring at your own pace. Meet the resident horses, try the racehorse simulator, and explore a remarkable collection of sporting art and racing history.
Newmarket itself has been at the centre of British horseracing since the 17th century, when King Charles II made it a base for training and racing. Often called the “Home of Horseracing”, the town is steeped in tradition, from its historic racecourses to the world-famous training grounds that still shape champions today.
For birthdays or anniversaries, this experience offers a rare glimpse into a world most people only see on race day, and one they won’t forget in a hurry.
