The Main Event

Perfect for the craft lover in your life or anyone who loves trying something new, this experience invites you to step into the world of traditional silversmithing. Guided by an expert craftsman, you’ll learn the techniques used to shape, form and refine metal into something both beautiful and practical.

Over the course of the day, you’ll create your very own bowl and spoon, working with copper, a material chosen for its similarity to silver, making it ideal for beginners.

The group is kept small, with no more than six participants, so there’s plenty of one-to-one guidance. With two experienced tutors on hand, you’ll be supported at every step, whether you’re shaping your first curve or adding those final finishing touches.

And it’s not all hammering and polishing. There’s a hearty lunch included to keep you fuelled, along with snacks and drinks throughout the day. Everything you need is provided, from materials to protective gear, all you have to do is turn up and get stuck in.

Once your pieces are complete, they’ll be professionally silver plated and sent out to you within a couple of weeks. So not only do you get a memorable day out, but you’ll also receive two handmade items to show off and casually mention you made yourself.

Important to Note

What to wear
Jeans that go over boots, t-shirt and jumper (no fleeces, no shorts and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty)
Foot wear - Steel-toed-capped boots or something sturdy like walking boots.
No jewellery. Hair must be tied back.
During winter, it can be very chilly in the workshop, so please wear plenty of suitable clothing.

All PPE is provided, which includes safety glasses, ear plugs and aprons.

Lunch and all snacks and drinks will be provided. Please advise of any any dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Minimum age is 11.
Spectators are welcome and must wear appropriate PPE whilst in the workshop (that will be provided) and can come and go as they please. They can bring their own packed lunch, or one can be provided at an additional cost of £10. This is to be paid in cash on the day of the experience. Please advise when booking if needed.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
