After a warm welcome at the airfield, you’ll sit down with a CAA-qualified instructor for a relaxed pre-flight briefing. They’ll explain how the aircraft works, what to expect in the air, and how the controls respond – all in plain English, no jargon required. Even if flying is totally new to you, you’ll feel at ease from the start.
Then it’s time for the main event. One of you will take the front seat alongside the instructor for a 30-minute aeroplane trial lesson, while your partner joins as an observer in the back. As the wheels leave the runway, the thrill really kicks in. With the instructor guiding you, you’ll actually get hands-on at the controls and experience what it’s like to fly an aircraft yourself.
Meanwhile, your other half gets to soak up the views, snap photos, and enjoy seeing you in full pilot mode. Spectators are welcome too, so friends or family can watch the take-off and landing if they wish.
After touching back down, the experience ends on a high, literally and figuratively. You’ll be treated to a bottle of fizz and a box of indulgent chocolates, the perfect excuse to sit back, toast the adventure, and relive your favourite moments from the flight. You’ll also receive a signed flight certificate as a keepsake, and the lesson even counts towards a Private Pilot’s Licence should the flying bug bite.

This is a private experience for 2 people, with 1 person having the lesson (with the instructor) and the other sitting as a passenger.

What does this experience include?

This is an incredibly popular experience, so the provider advises booking around 3-6 months in advance for most locations. As we are a gift experience provider, we advise giving the voucher for the occasion ( i.e birthday/ anniversary ) and allowing the recipient to choose a location, time and date that suits them.
The main flying season is April-October for most of the locations.
This is experience is weather dependant and can be cancelled at any point up to the booking time in the interests of safety - in the event of a cancellation you are able to rebook for an alternative date.
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
