The Main Event

This relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop is all about turning simple materials into something genuinely useful. Using reclaimed wood and pallet off-cuts, you’ll create a cosy bird box or a bug house that helps support local wildlife while adding a charming touch to any garden.

No experience is needed, so whether they’re a seasoned DIY fan or someone who’s never picked up a saw before, everyone is welcome. You’ll be guided through the process step by step, learning practical woodworking skills in a fun and easy-going environment.

Throughout the day, you’ll get stuck into the basics of working with wood. You’ll learn how to measure, cut and shape materials, as well as how to safely use a range of tools including drills, saws and sanding machines. It’s all about building confidence while creating something you can be proud of.

One of the best parts of this experience is seeing your project come together piece by piece. What starts as a few bits of reclaimed timber quickly transforms into a finished bird box or bug house, ready to hang in the garden and put to good use.

And it’s not just about the end result. You’ll leave with a set of handy skills that you can use again and again, whether that’s for future DIY projects or simply fixing things around the house.

What's Included?
Unless specified all the materials, tools, and guidance are provided.
All necessary PPE is supplied.
Tea, coffee and water are available throughout the day.
There is a fridge in which you can store your packed lunch

It is recommended you wear old clothes suitable for the activities you’ll be doing and appropriate footwear.

When

Courses run on selected days throughout the year.

Workshop opens at 9.15am and courses start at 9:30am. The day usually finishes between 4:00pm and 4:30pm.

There'll be short breaks in the morning and afternoon, with lunch happening sometime between 12:30pm and 2:00pm.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Minimum age is 14
Under 18s can take part if accompanied by a parent or guardian also on the course (one adult with each child).
If you have any medical or physical conditions that may affect your ability to take part in the workshop, you need to inform the experience provider at time of booking your course.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
