The Main Event

Belvoir Castle has been the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland for over 1,000 years, and it’s packed with stories waiting to be discovered. The current castle, built in the 19th century, is an impressive example of Regency architecture, filled with grand state rooms, fine art, and elegant interiors that reflect centuries of British history. Wandering through the castle feels like stepping into another world, where every room has a story and every detail has been carefully preserved.

Once you’ve explored inside, you must explore the grounds too! Set high above the Vale of Belvoir, the castle offers sweeping countryside views that are worth the visit alone. The gardens are a real highlight and combine formal planting with peaceful woodland walks and colourful seasonal displays. Whether you’re visiting in spring bloom, summer sunshine or autumn colour, the gardens offer plenty to enjoy.

To make it extra special, this day out experience includes a traditional afternoon tea served in the elegant Aviary Tearoom, with lovely views across the castle grounds. Many of the ingredients are sourced directly from the Belvoir estate, including eggs from their own hens, herbs from the kitchen garden, and seasonal fruits that inspire the preserves and pastries. Each element of the afternoon tea is carefully prepared by skilled pastry chefs, blending classic techniques with a modern touch to create something that feels both traditional and fresh.

Voucher options are available for adults, as well as family options that include children, making it ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, family treats or a relaxed day out together.

Gardens & Playground are open daily.

Afternoon Tea is served daily in The Aviary Tearoom from 12pm to 4pm.

Please note that last entry to all areas is typically 1 hour before closing time.

The castle may occasionally close for private events or maintenance.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Adult age range: 18+
Child age range: 4 to 17 years old
Children under aged 3 and under go free.
Dogs are welcome in the gardens but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Due to the historic nature of Belvoir Castle, accessibility is limited to the ground floor only. The upper floors are accessible only via staircases, with no lift access available due to the building's protected status and structural limitations.
Parts of the gardens are accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility, though some areas feature steep slopes, steps, and uneven terrain due to the castle's hillside location.
Assistance dogs are welcome throughout Belvoir Castle, including in the castle itself, gardens, and retail village. Water bowls are available at various locations.
Accessible toilet facilities are available at the castle entrance, in the gardens, and at the retail village.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
