Theatre Show Matilda

A childhood classic loved by adults and children alike, Matilda the Musical has been delighting fans since 20210.

It has travelled to 91 cities, won over 100 international awards and regularly receives rave reviews.

Matilda is based on the beloved children's novel written by Roald Dahl. It tells the story of Matilda Wormwood, a precocious and intelligent young girl with an extraordinary imagination. Matilda faces various challenges in her life, primarily stemming from her neglectful and abusive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood, and the tyrannical headmistress of her school, Miss Trunchbull.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Matilda discovers her remarkable telekinetic powers, which she uses to navigate her way through school and stand up against injustice. With the help of her kind-hearted teacher, Miss Honey, Matilda learns to embrace her individuality and uses her intellect and powers to empower herself and those around her.

The musical adaptation of "Matilda" incorporates lively music and energetic dance numbers, capturing the humour, heart, and resilience of the original story.

• The show running time is 2hrs 35mins with a 20 minute interval.
  
• The age recommendation is 6+, although younger guests are welcome. Please note the performance can be quite loud in parts  and can be quite scary.
  
• Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the performance begins.
  
• This production features flashing lights, lasers and loud sound effects. Latex balloons are popped onstage and stage haze (smoke) is used. Throughout the performance actors interact in audience spaces.
  
• Bag searches will be in operation upon arrival at the venue.
