Set in the scenic Hackney Marshes, this Wild Plants and Fungi Foraging & Chinese Dumpling Making Experience is a hands-on journey through the world of edible wild herbs and plants. With the guidance of an expert forager, guests will explore the marshes in search of seasonal plants and fungi, learning how to identify, pick, and use these natural ingredients safely and creatively.
Once their baskets are full, participants will return to an outdoor kitchen to learn the art of making Chinese-style dumplings. Using their freshly foraged herbs, they’ll mix, fold, and cook up a delicious feast, all while picking up new recipes, techniques, and stories behind each plant.
This small-group experience (capped at 20 people) offers a friendly atmosphere that’s perfect for anyone new to foraging. It’s a great gift for birthdays, anniversaries, or even as a thoughtful alternative to traditional presents.

Meeting Point and Time:
11am at the entrance to the Middlesex Filter beds nature reserve (west side entrance), accessible on the Canal Towpath opposite Millfields park.
The group will depart at 11:05 to start the class.
Maximum group size is 20 people.

All food cooked is vegetarian.
Gluten free and dairy free diets can be accommodated.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
