At the River Arun, your adventure begins at tranquil Pallingham Quay, where you’ll paddle through open farmland and wilder, tree-lined waterways. Choose Cuckmere Haven for a scenic tidal paddle through the South Downs National Park, where you might spot the famous White Horse of Litlington and if you’re lucky, an otter or mink along the way. Prefer the River Ouse? Start at Barcombe Mills and drift towards the historic town of Lewes, or explore the quieter upper stretches for a more secluded experience surrounded by lush greenery. Wherever you go, friendly and qualified instructors will guide you through, tailoring the pace and activities to match your confidence and ability.
With all equipment provided, you can simply turn up and enjoy the day, no previous experience required. Immerse yourself in fresh air, calm waters, and breathtaking countryside views. What to Bring
Participants should arrive with warm, waterproof clothing suited to the day’s weather. A complete kit list will be provided upon booking, but here’s a general guide:
The above is a suggested list, and it’s recommended to dress appropriately for the season.
*Layered clothing is ideal for trapping warmth. Denim is discouraged as it restricts movement, feels cold when wet, and dries slowly. Footwear is required while kayaking—old trainers or plimsolls are ideal, while sandals are not recommended. Wetsuits are optional but not essential; if bringing one, layering a warm top over it is suggested.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
