If you're looking for surf lessons tailor made to you or your groups abilities, these private surf lessons at Watergate Bay in North Cornwall are just the ticket.

It doesn't matter if you've never touched a surf board before or you're a regular on waves and want to fine tune your technique, the expert instructors can tailor make a session that's just right for you.

If you are a beginner, you'll be taught all the essential topics like water safety on the beach, learning how to catch your first wave, and most importantly, getting you up and standing on your surfboard by the end of your very first session. The dedicated and experienced surf coaches will be by your side every step of the way, providing clear instructions on the beach, hands-on assistance in the water and plenty of encouragement of course!

The beauty of having a private surf lesson is you can progress at your own pace and ask all the questions, without feeling like you're holding anyone else up.

Important to Note

Please be advised parking in Watergate can be quite difficult in summer time so please leave extra time to make sure you can arrive 20 minutes before the lesson starts.

When

The surf school is open from April to December. All surf lessons are two hours long.

Daily slots at 9:30am, 12:00pm and 2:30pm.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Minimum age: 8 years old.
Participants need to be in good health to take part in the surf lessons.
This experience is not recommended for those who are pregnant.
Please advise of any medical conditions when booking. The experience provider will require you to fill out a waiver form.
This experience is open to anyone with additional needs, please discuss this at the time of booking.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.

FAQs

What equipment is supplied?

All equipment is supplied including, full length wetsuit, surfboard and boots/gloves if required.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring swim gear to wear under your wetsuit, a towel, a snack & drink and suncream.

There are changing rooms and storage for clothes and bags, phones and valuables can be left securely in the shop.

What type of surf board will I get to use?

Beginners are allocated a Softech learner surfboards. These boards are soft, buoyant and stable. Perfect for the first time surfer.

There is a variety of different length boards to cater for all shapes and sizes. If you have surfed before you may want to try one of the intermediate surfboards or one from the premium hard board range.
