The Main Event

Ever caught yourself admiring neon signs and wondering how they’re actually made? This two-hour taster session offers a behind-the-scenes look at the glowing world of neon. It’s ideal for curious creatives, design lovers, or anyone who enjoys getting stuck into something hands-on.

The experience begins with a warm welcome from an experienced neon craftsperson, who’ll guide you through a fascinating history of neon signs. You’ll learn how they’re made, why they glow the way they do, and pick up a few surprising facts along the way. There’s also a tour of the workshop itself, which is packed with tools, glass tubing and plenty of visual inspiration.

Then comes the fun part. As part of a small group, you’ll have several turns at basic neon glass bending, getting a real feel for this traditional and highly skilled craft. No experience is needed at all, just a bit of curiosity and a willingness to give it a go.

At the end of the session, you can take home your non-illuminated bent glass pieces as a unique keepsake of your time in the workshop. And if you fall in love with your creation and want to see it fully lit up, the workshop can turn it into an illuminated neon piece for an additional cost, including the transformer. Delivery can also be arranged for an extra cost.

Suitable for ages 14 and over, this Neon Sign Taster Session makes a fantastic gift for birthdays, Christmas, or anyone who’s hard to buy for. It’s creative, unusual and offers an experience that’s just as enjoyable as the glowing results.

Important to Note

Group experience
This is a group experience so you will be participating alongside others.
Maximum group size will be 5 but groups os 6 can be accommodated if you have a "For 6" voucher.

Loose clothing should be avoided if possible and long hair needs to be tied back. Safety glasses will be provided for you to use during the session.

What do you take home?
You are welcome to take home your non-illuminated bent pieces of glass with you.

If you would like the workshop to turn your glass bending attempt into an illuminated piece of neon, they can do this for an additional cost of £150 (including transformer). You may need to collect this after the event, or you can arrange for delivery at an additional cost.

Available on selected Thursday evenings, Fridays or Saturdays throughout the year.

The session will last 2 hours.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Suitable for ages 14+
Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult, who can be a spectator if not a paying participant.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
