I had booked my afternoon tea for 2pm, due to various unforeseen circumstances we didn't get there until 3.45.l had informed the hotel if our delay and they were mistaken helpful and accommodating.
The hotel was excellent, surrounded by wonderful views. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman and was immediately put at ease. He brought us a glass of champain, on the house, to help us relax as we had a very traumatic
experience trying to get there. The food was delicious and we spent a good couple of hours being thoroughly spoilt.
A memorable experience.

Enjoyed our tea very much. Served by two lovely young men who looked after us well.
Our only problem was the road closure. It took us ages to find an alternative route via Troutbeck making us late and hot and bothered.

We were given a wonder days voucher for Afternoon tea at Lake Windermere. Beautiful surroundings staff very friendly . Afternoon tea was lovely no rush we sat looking at the view enjoying our afternoon tea. Would definitely go to Lake Windermere hotel again.

We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. The warm sausage roll was delicious. We thought the cast iron tea pots were a novelty. The food was lovely, especially the jam cream scones. We actually took some of the cakes home to enjoy later. The staff were very efficient. We enjoy little wander around the hotel, which has many original features. The view of Windermere from the terrace was amazing. All in all we had a wonderful time.

Lovely building, Sausage roll slice was lovely.. Scones were nice, homemade jam that came with them was "different" so we used a jar off the breakfast table. Sandwiches were unusual. Brie with peach was definitely different. The hummus and cucumber needed more hummus as it was basically a dry cucumber sandwich, so we left those. Cakes were quite nice. Had to keep looking for staff to ask for extra milk as we only got a tiny jug between us. One of us had an americano, which turned out to be one large cup of exceedingly strong black coffee. Had to ask for 2 pots of hot water to try to dilute it down so it could be drunk. Overall disappointing, as we have been before and it was wonderful last time. We were really looking forward to this visit, but sadly it didn't meet our expectations. The staff are never the same, so maybe that's why? Nice views though.

I was bought this experience as a retirement gift from my colleagues, and what a lovely treat it was. The cakes in particular were delicious and we had a beautiful walk around the grounds afterwards.

Really enjoyedcour visit.
The story of the Yellow Earl was fascinating, but there should be a short leaflet giving a potted history. Bought the book on the Earl and found a fantastic story of a proflicate spendthrift.
You should make more of that
