Starting right in the beating heart of the West End, this two-hour walking tour meanders through historic streets and tucked-away back alleys, slipping behind the curtain (literally and figuratively) of some of the area’s most iconic theatres. You’ll pass famous stage doors where stars have celebrated opening nights, nursed nerves before big debuts, and occasionally bumped into something a little more… supernatural.

Yes, this tour comes with a generous helping of ghostly goings-on. You’ll stand outside the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, said to be the most haunted theatre in the world, and hear the kind of spine-tingling tales that make you glance over your shoulder. Then it’s on to the Royal Opera House, steeped in elegance, history, and a fair bit of backstage mischief over the centuries.

As you weave through Seven Dials, you’ll uncover the stories you won’t find in the programme: Victorian scandals that rocked polite society, whispered legends between cast members, and showbiz moments that changed theatre forever. The tour then glides towards The Strand, home to the Savoy, Vaudeville, and Adelphi theatres, where glamour and drama spill out onto the pavement.

This walking tour has been designed so that it can be taken alongside a trip to the theatre should you wish to do so. The start time generally allows you to attend an evening performance afterwards.

Tour Meeting Point: Agatha Christie Memorial, Corner of Cranbourn Street and Great Newport Street.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour to check in and get ready.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Open to all ages.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. The tour will go ahead rain or shine.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
