Perfect for food lovers, aspiring makers and anyone who loves trying something new, this unique blacksmith experience combines hands-on craftsmanship and delicious local flavours.
After a health and safety briefing, you'll step into the forge to discover the traditional craft of blacksmithing. Guided by an experienced blacksmith, you'll learn how to heat, shape and forge steel, transforming a simple piece of metal into your very own handcrafted cheese knife.
You'll be introduced to traditional forging techniques as you work with fire, hammer and anvil to create a knife that's both practical and beautifully unique. With expert guidance every step of the way, no previous blacksmithing experience is needed, making this an enjoyable and rewarding activity for complete beginners.
Once your knife has been forged, you'll move on to the finishing touches. You'll polish and sharpen your creation, ensuring it's ready to use and a keepsake you'll be proud to take home. Every knife is individually handmade, giving it its own character and making it a lasting reminder of your day at the forge.
Then comes the best part, putting your craftsmanship to the test! Using the cheese knife you've created, you'll enjoy a tasting of delicious locally produced artisan cheeses, paired with a glass of wine. It's the perfect way to celebrate your achievement while sampling some fantastic local flavours.
Whether you're shopping for a foodie, a keen home cook, a cheese enthusiast or someone who loves unique experience days, this Forge Your Own Cheese Knife and Artisan Cheese Tasting Experience is guaranteed to impress.
