This short getaway includes a one-night stay for two in beautiful Shropshire, perfect for a peaceful break, with time to explore the historic town of Shrewsbury and the stunning countryside around it. Whether you choose a weekday escape or a weekend treat, you'll have plenty of opportunities to relax and take it all in.
The highlight of this experience is a 45-minute river cruise on the River Severn, one of Britain’s most scenic waterways. You’ll board a modern, three-deck passenger boat that features retractable sides and a roof, so it’s great in any weather. Glide gently along the river as you take in the sights of Shrewsbury, including the Welsh Bridge, Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury Castle, and the striking St. Chad’s Church. Along the way, a qualified local guide will offer commentary full of fun facts and local history, bringing the landscape to life.
Of course, no relaxing day out would be complete without a traditional afternoon tea! After your river adventure, enjoy a short, scenic walk into the heart of Shrewsbury where your delicious treat awaits. Tuck into a selection of sandwiches, cakes, and of course, freshly brewed tea, a perfect end to a charming day.
Afternoon Tea
The afternoon tea takes place in a café in Shrewsbury and not on the boat.
All bookings must be pre-booked at least 72 hours in advance, and any dietary requirements/allergies notified (you will be charged for any extra food that the café will have to make).
River Cruise: Available to book Monday to Saturday.
Running 11am or 12pm - March, April, May, June, September and October. Not available in July and August.
Please arrive up to 15 minutes before the departure time of your trip to allow time to board.
Afternoon Tea
The afternoon tea takes place at The Orchard Café, a 10-minute walk (uphill) from the Sabrina Boats into the town. Limited parking is available at the café.
The Orchard Café is open daily 10am to 3pm.
Hotel Stay
This voucher is valid for any date of the year, though we use a live booking system, meaning hotel availability is beyond our control & is subject to change.
We'll send you the three best hotel room deals that are available at that time.
Please note that seasonality, major events, public holidays etc can affect hotel availability, and certain dates, such as school or public holidays may require an upgrade fee to book.
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
